The Young India Skills University was established on 11 October 2024. Its permanent campus at Mirkhanpet is under construction by MEIL, and about 418 students currently study at a temporary campus at IIIT Hyderabad, Gachibowli.
The Ratan Tata Greenfield Radial Road, a 100 metre corridor through Mirkhanpet, is under construction. The state Cabinet approved a proposed 39.6 km metro corridor from the airport towards Future City in June 2025. Central approval and the final alignment are pending as of September 2026, so no station location has been published.

Who approves layouts in Mirkhanpet
Meerkhanpet is in the G.O.Ms.No.69 schedule of 12 March 2025, so the Future City Development Authority (FCDA) is its planning authority. FCDA has accepted layout and building applications through the BuildNow platform since December 2025, with no layout approvals reported as of 5 November 2026. Its own headquarters at Mirkhanpet, on 7.5 acres, was about 40% complete in December 2025 and was reported open in June 2026, so confirm with FCDA. For a new layout, ask for the FCDA permission number and check it with FCDA, not the brochure. If a layout shows an HMDA or DTCP approval issued before March 2025, re-verify it.
What to check before buying near the Skills University
- Village and survey number: listings often borrow the campus name for land several villages away. Akuthotapally, often called a neighbour, is not in the Census 2011 list for Kandukur mandal.
- Acquisition notices: check the survey number against notices for the radial road, the campus and the Future City area. In April 2026 the High Court issued notices over the acquisition of 554.34 acres for the stretch towards Amangal.
- TG-RERA registration: check the exact project name and promoter at rera.telangana.gov.in.
- Timelines: neither the campus nor the road had a published completion date as of September 2026, so do not assume rental demand before the campus is operating.
